QUEST # 2
INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT
INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT
It was easy to schedule a meeting with the upper class men, but the hard part was, their free time is at 6pm, so we had to go home late at night.
In order to understand the terms that they would use, we had to read chapters 12 and 13, about Information Systems Development.
Because one of our group mates was late, we kept them waiting for a couple of minutes, so they gave us a short, yet striking tip, "If you're going to interview companies, you wouldn't want to keep them waiting."
The flow of the interview was easy, because Kuya Eric, our interviewee, was ready with his explanation about their project. His discussion was so detailed that we didn't know if we will still ask the guide questions. HAHA.
There are a lot of things that we learned from Kuya Eric and Kuya Mike. They explained the steps, the uses and the importance of the tools they created. While explaining, they also showed us their Data Flow Diagram, which is a page full of boxes, circles and arrows. There were a lot of red marks which were the correction of their professor.
In order to make an Information System, you must have good Analytical and Programming skills, you must learn to work with different kinds of people and you must be comfortable in conversing with presidents of companies.
We were finished with the interview in about 20 minutes, so we asked them if they can share stories about their experiences during their stay here in La Salle. So, the most exciting part of our interview (but it was not included in the video) commences.
After the interview, Kuya Eric sent a text message late at night saying "The project I presented to you, I have even used it in business subjects like STRAMGT and BISPROC. Try to reuse your project/s to not only make your work easier, but to also continually refine your project if you want to use it all the way to ICTPROJ. And try to stick with the same group throughout so that you don't have any problems working together. It can be bothersome when you have to explain your project from the beginning to new group mates. Just text us when ever you need something, its better to know some upperclassmen so that you can ask help when ever you need it."
Sorry for the inconvenience coz we had some technical difficulties and no one can assist us to take the video of us.
